AGM Summary 2013

This annual award, dedicated to the memory of our late President Norman Wheeler, is presented at our AGM to a Society member who has, in one way or another, made an outstanding contribution to the Society in the past year.

We are delighted to announce that the thirteenth deserving recipient of the Norman Wheeler Memorial Award is PAUL FINCH for his continuing hard work as our Stage Manager of the past seven years.

Since South Pacific in 2006, Paul has brought his impressive technical knowledge of the theatre to bear and has led our stage teams very effectively. He is always willing to help, rarely knows how to say ‘no’ – and who does all this without the applause of an audience.

Each time the curtain rises on one of our productions, Paul has very likely spent the best part of three days at the theatre; first overseeing the get-in, and the technical rehearsal, and returning to fix various problems with the set, and helping to plot the lights, and the list goes on. And this happens for each show, time and time again… the selflessly giving of his time, usually achieved by taking time off work, to ensure that everything gets done ready for our shows to open.

We are extremely grateful of his commitment and dedication to the Society. Thank you, Paul.
